4 Days 3 Nights Lhasa Tour Day 1 Kathmandu To Lhasa (3600 M) Early morning transfer Kathmandu airport to connect flight to Lhasa-fly 70 minutes over the Himalayas and arrive Gongar airport in Tibet (3572 M). After Immigration and Custom formalities drive 93 KM to Lhasa city. On arrival check in at the Lhasa Hotel. Rest of the time complete rest for acclimatization. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2 In Lhasa Breakfast at the hotel. AM: Visit JOKHANG TEMPLE and BAKHOR STREET This temple situated in the centre of old Lhasa. Originally built in 647 AD by craftsman from Tibet, China and Nepal by King Tsrong Tshen Gampo. This temple is the spiritual centre of Tibet and the holiest destination for all Tibetan Buddhist. In the centre of the hall you can see most previous and religious golden “SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA” relic, which was brought by Chinese Princess WEN CHENG from China in 700 AD as a wedding gift from her parents. Bakhor Bazar is a very old traditional Tibetan market. PM: Visit SERA MONASTERY Sera means “Hailstone” in Tibetan, which is situated, is situated 15 KM north of Lhasa city, which was complete in 1419. It is the biggest monastery in Tibet where 10,000 monks were housed during Ming Dynasty. Overnight at the hotel. Day 3 In Lhasa Breakfast at the hotel. AM: Visit POTALA PALACE & NORBULINGKHA This legendary world famous palace is situated to the west of old Lhasa, on a hillock. It was originally built in 640 during the reign of King Tsrong Tshen Gampo and was expanded to its present structure. During 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama. This sacred 13 stories palace has 1000 rooms with elaborate fresco paintings of the 5th Dalai Lama, decorated statues and Tibetan paintings. Potala palace was the Head Quarters of the former rulers and winter home for successive Dalai Lamas. PM: Visit DREPUNG MONASTERY Situated to the west of Lhasa. It was founded in 1416 by one of the Tsong Khapa disciples. It was the largest and richest yellow sect monastery in the world. Drepung had seven colleges and could house over 10,000 monks before the revolution. Overnight at the hotel. Day 4 Lhasa – Kathmandu Early morning breakfast at the hotel.
