White water RAFTING (WWR – 3 hrs) at Trisuli River

THE TRISULI RIVER

The Trisuli is Nepal's most popular rafting river for many reasons: Firstly, the Trisuli is excellent for one day rafting trip. It has ready access from Kathmandu and Pokhara. It combines ideally with a trip to Royal Chitwan National Park (only a ½ hr. bus ride away from the take-out!).

Mellow, relaxing stretches of river wind through gorges with spectacular scenery including many small local villages. And thrilling white water is here in abundance!

Big, bouncy waves, hefty holes and tricky chutes all make for an exhilarating ride.  Class III rapids – such as "Monkey Rapid' (named after the family of monkeys living on the nearby river bank – not the last wildlife you'll encounter on this trip!)  Other rapids run include 'Twin Rocks', 'Ladies Delight', 'Surprise', 'Pinball' and 'Coffee Pot’

Cost: US$ 108 per person

Two days Rafting at The Seti Khola

THE SETI KHOLA

The Seti Khola or 'Fair Lady" river runs 70 km. through some of the most serene and verdant countryside in Nepal.

This is an ideal 3-day trip for those who seek an introduction to rafting. The Seti takes teamwork – its waters flow through technical chutes and channels – your skill as a paddler will grow!  The rapids are Class II & III – big waves, challenging holes and narrow runs, all 'wetting' your appetite for more!

The beauty of the Seti extends beyond its warm, sparkling waters.  The Seti lies in an isolated gorge surrounded by beautiful jungle. Abundant wildlife is easily spotted along the riverbanks, including monkeys, deer and a wide array of birds and butterflies.

Our 'put-in' is at the village of Damauli on the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway between Mugling and Pokhara. Our first day is spent driving to the river, equipment set-up, a delicious lunch, a thorough safety talk, and then on to the river for an afternoon of fun. Evenings are spent at serene riverside camps.  All are welcome to help in preparation of meals – you're a part of the rafting team!

On day three we come to the confluence of the Trisuli River and soon we're at Gaighat our 'take-out'.  After eating lunch, we're on the bus for the ride back to Kathmandu. Those wanting to continue on to Royal Chitwan National Park will find it only a half-hour drive from our ending point, making this a great river trip to combine with a visit to Chitwan.

Cost: US$ 126 per person
